The Seguaro Sabercats are one of the biggest powerhouses in Arizona High School football. The 4A program is chasing its 5th straight state title. In the first round of the 2017 the mission was simple: stay focused.
That’s exactly what they did against a scrappy but outgunned Mingus team. Guided by a 31-point 2nd quarter, the Sabercats rolled by a score of 45-13. They had success on the ground, but really dominated the opponent with a strong passing game. Mingus’ defensive backs were no match for Saguaro’s bigger faster wide receivers.
Saguaro kept things going the next week against Peoria, winning 56-7. The 10-2 no. 2 seed will play again this weekend against Higley High School.
