Joy bus diner photo

For this story I found a diner in northern Phoenix that delivers meals to cancer patients. Jennifer Caraway started the delivery service in 2011 when her friend joy lost her battle to cancer. Every Friday, Jennifer and her crew of volunteers now deliver to over 40 homes a week.

The diner closes every day at 2pm, so Jennifer can focus on the charity. Despite that, the Joy Bus has become a local favorite. Residents have become regulars and come to the diner to enjoy each other’s company and help a good cause.

One-hundred percent of the profit at the Joy Bus goes directly toward the meal delivery charity.

Caraway uses fresh produce for the meals.
