A sports fan’s guide to the busiest week of the year

Remember July? Lebron’s block was nothing more than a fresh memory, and half of the Pittsburgh Penguins had already posted summer vacation photos of themselves with the Stanley Cup on Instagram. The drama of NBA free agency, international soccer, and Olympic anticipation were all we had to keep us from complete sports withdrawal. It really sucked. I got a rash on my neck it was so bad.

Keep thinking about July, for a second. Now think about this week. It does not suck.

If you’re like me, there’s no HBO Sunday lineup or new season of whatever Netflix is working on that can entertain me like a full slate of the sports ball. If you’re like me, the 10 days in late October and early November—when every major, team sport is being played at the same time—is the most wonderful time of the year.

Of course, with all these great games on there’s a lot of shit to sift through. You don’t want to get stuck watching the Jaguars play the Titans on Thursday night, when there is a better game on. To combat this, I’ve made my own little TV guide, and it can help you get optimal enjoyment out of the sports eclipse.
